Hydrotherapy

Michael Wenden Aquatic Leisure Centre

What is hydrotherapy?

Hydrotherapy or aquatic physiotherapy is an alternative way to exercise for those who find land-based exercises difficult. Hydrotherapy is most beneficial for individuals who experience high levels of pain when exercising on land (eg. osteoarthritis), recovering after surgery (knee, hip replacements, etc.), and for those looking for an alternative way to exercise.

Session Structure

Hydrotherapy sessions are 30 minutes. A physiotherapist will be in the pool assisting you with your individualised exercise program. There may be up to three people in the session at a time.

Location

Hydrotherapy sessions occur at the Michael Wenden Aquatic Leisure Centre in the indoor pool. Please meet your physiotherapist inside of the pool at your allocated time.

How to Register

For current clients, please ask your physiotherapist if hydrotherapy is suitable for you. Once eligible, your physiotherapist will provide you with a health questionnaire and allocate you to a time. New clients to Reactive Physiotherapy will be required to have an initial consultation with a physiotherapist to assess your needs to develop a targeted exercise program.
